Initial Situation
In the development of modern kitchen appliances, the focus is increasingly on not only functionality but also material selection, sustainability and efficient production processes. For the housings of Mockmill’s high-quality grain mills, a material was sought that would meet both ecological requirements and the technical demands of industrial mass production.

Material solution
ARBOBLEND®, the bio-based material from TECNARO, provided a high-performance alternative to conventional plastics. The material is based predominantly on renewable raw materials and combines natural components with polymer engineering optimisation. This results in materials with defined mechanical properties, high dimensional stability and good surface quality.

ARBOBLEND® can be processed efficiently on standardised plastics processing equipment – particularly in injection moulding. For the production of the Mockmill housings, this enables short cycle times, high reproducibility and cost-effective mass production.
