Interstuhl ECO UP – the versatile stool, made from our plant-based bioplastic ARBOBLEND®

For decades, INTERSTUHL has been synonymous with innovative seating solutions that combine ergonomics and design. With the ECO UP, the company has developed a stool that meets ergonomic requirements whilst utilising the plant-based bioplastic ARBOBLEND®, and is suitable for a variety of work environments and applications.

Initial situation
Modern working environments and home office solutions call for seating solutions that encourage movement, offer comfort and, at the same time, meet requirements regarding material use and durability. The aim was to develop a stool that combines functionality and design with the use of a bio-based material.

Material solution
The ECO UP is made from the plant-based bioplastic ARBOBLEND®. This material combines renewable raw materials, robustness and dimensionally stable ergonomics, enabling the stool to be used in both work and leisure settings.

The use of ARBOBLEND® enables the incorporation of a bio-based material without compromising the functional requirements for comfort, stability and design.

Result
With the ECO UP, INTERSTUHL combines ergonomic seating design with the use of the bio-based material ARBOBLEND®. The project demonstrates how functional product requirements can be combined with the use of a plant-based material.
